TEARS OF CILUBINTANG

TThe story entitled Air Mata Cilubintang or The Tears of Cilubintang comes from Banda Neira, Central Maluku, which was derrived from Hikayat Lontor. This Lontor Hikayat is published in a book written by Des Alwi entitled History of Banda Neira. As an ancestral heritage, Air Mata CILUBINTANG keeps historical stories about the origins of Banda Island and the history of sacred wells (sumur negeri) found in Lontor Village. The writing of this story is an effort to preserve or revive local wealth or culture which in reality is almost extinct, namely through the development of folklore. This story is delivered in the form of a children's story book with the aim of being read by the younger generation, especially children. In addition, this story writing also aims to increase children's reading interest in reading that is locally-enriched material. The author hopes that the children's story entitled The Tears of Cilubintang can be useful and become a required reading in schools, especially in Maluku.
